What PrebioSure™ Is
PrebioSure™ is a concentrated extract of biologically active compounds from food-grade wheat germ, produced through a proprietary enzymatic process developed by GCI’s manufacturing partner over years of veterinary and human research. The starting material is wheat germ; the finished extract is dried into a stable powder suited for capsule, tablet, sachet, and beverage formats.
Why a Wheat-Germ-Derived Plusbiotic
Probiotics introduce beneficial bacteria. Prebiotics feed those bacteria. Neither category directly supports the integrity of the intestinal lining itself. PrebioSure™ was developed specifically to fill that third category. It originated in animal research at the Veterinary Medical School in Budapest evaluating the effect of digestive wheat germ extract on intestinal morphology in farm animals, and was later evaluated in human pilot work for compromised gastrointestinal conditions. PrebioSure™ is the first commercialized representative of this third “plusbiotic” category in the U.S. nutraceutical market.
Mechanism
The extract delivers a defined profile of bioactive compounds — chief among them 2,6-dimethoxy-1,4-benzoquinone (DMBQ), a naturally occurring quinone with documented redox and signaling activity in plant and mammalian systems — alongside a complementary amino acid and peptide profile from the wheat-germ matrix. In the GI tract, this profile supports the normal cell-renewal activity of the intestinal epithelium, contributes to a balanced microbial environment, and provides substrate for energy-related metabolism.
